AHHHH I AM LISTENING TO MILO VENTIMIGLIA READ AN AUDIOBOOK.
i feel it is telling that i find even his audiobook voice unbearably obnoxious.
i shall just pretend it is peter, perhaps it will be tolerable that way.

Date: 2010-02-12 05:24 am (UTC)Edited, because I forgot to say that I did have an audiobook of the Hobbit at one stage! That was awesome. Very relaxing, in fact. If your one is making you agitated, maybe check it out? It's for kiddies, but it's super cute. :)

haha co-journaller will attest to this, it's the ones that i am most spiteful, hateful towards, that i like the most. BUT NOT MILO OKAY HE IS AN EXCEPTION.
i mean...i don't know the guy personally. perhaps he saves kittens during his spare time? but his reading voice is kind of obnoxious.
did he do the hobbit as well? will check it out if so.

Date: 2010-02-12 07:34 am (UTC)*nods* yes, yes. I'm sure he does. Isn't that part of being vegetarian? (don't worry, I won't start channeling chris crocker: leave poor Milo alone! Each to their own. BUT YOU'RE THE ONE LISTENING TO THE AUDIOBOOK! *points*)

LOL, no! Haha, that audiobook is about 20 years old or something. It's british, and has all sorts of character voices, and they even do the tragic dwarvern folk singing! It's fabulous. There's a Lord of the Rings set too and Ian Holm (who played Bilbo in the movies) does the voice of Frodo! Weird. However, that one is about fifty million hours long. As you'd expect.

Date: 2010-02-12 07:42 am (UTC)(i totally judge him for being a vegetarian dude! DOWN WITH VEGGIE-LOVERS. MEAT IS GOOD FOR YOU. LIKE CARNIVORES WE SHALL BE. he's a vegetarian from birth though? idk that's kind of adorable.

okay i will try to check out the hobbit thingy.
OK, so I just looked it up because I was feeling all sentimental for it, and I discovered there are actually two Hobbit audiobooks. The one I was thinking of was released in 1988 (on tape! that's the one I had. aww.), but there was another one in 2007. Can't vouch for that. Besides, if it doesn't contain the dire cacophony that was the dwarves' "music" (you'll understand if you ever source it - it's hilarious! bet that BBC composer never worked again), then it's a much inferior product.

Date: 2010-02-12 08:50 am (UTC)okay i guess if it's on tape it won't be available on mp3? but maybe someone ripped it idk! I SHALL STILL CHECK IT OUT.
...i have never read the hobbit. i have the book, it's a really pretty version uh. it sits there and mocks me, like all my books. /o\

Date: 2010-02-12 09:15 pm (UTC)Do read the Hobbit! It's so fun and not at all hard. LotR I found dull in parts (pages and pages of landscape description), but the Hobbit is written for children so there's less of that. Just lots of talk about bacon and seed cake and handkerchiefs.

Date: 2010-02-12 11:55 pm (UTC)I kind of agree about the British accents (as opposed to American) for audiobooks. They seem sort of less jarring/more soothing (also, perhaps a childhood thing for me). I have a couple of Stephen Fry's books that he read himself! And he is very nice to listen to.
Um, also I've heard a Heroes podfic or two read by Australians, and I find the accents so cute! especially when the characters call each other "nAYthan" and "pAYter" :)

Date: 2010-02-13 01:07 am (UTC)I think, much like Declan's clothes are probably Adrian's own (as well as Declan's sister, car, and giant-puppy mannerisms), the closest to Adrian's own speaking voice is Declan ~teaching or being a nuisance around Peggy. We love him, we do we do.
(PS. OMG you guys are welcome to hang out here aaaaalways. We have cake and crack and porn! \o/)

Date: 2010-02-13 12:14 pm (UTC)Ahem, anyway, yes that is Katie Sketch omg! Look, I have one more! A long long time ago we saw the video for Brother and then spent some time cooing over how hot everyone in this band was and also made some icons. Sadly, she is not my girlfriend. :-(

Date: 2010-02-13 05:07 pm (UTC)I'm sorry that she's not your girlfriend (nor mine)! Er, it's kind of embarassing to recognise her by her mouth, but ... whatever. Hey look, they're also really hot in this video! (especially Katie and the one with the balloon thing) *objectify, objectify*
Although I'm still mad that they broke up. 'Grab That Gun' is still one of my favourite albums. Why can't lesbians just get along? :( Apparently she's running a dyke bar in Toronto (or Vancouver?) and being a model right now. Which is not as exciting, I think.
