in other, equally startling news, interpol are not only not broken up, but they're opening for U2 at some point. i swear i had to check and re-check the articles and i'm still like, partly convinced that this is old news that has mistakenly been recycled as new, because surely they're not serious when they claim that another album is due? IS IT? OH PLEASE SAY IT IS.

things i do in my spare time: watch lovely, delicate music videos and then write a four-thousand word Peter/Nathan AU that features bloodplay, choking, watersports and the end of the world. clearly i win at life.

we have reached the episode in supernatural that features chuck and the winchester brothers discussing slash. yes, dean, people writing about you guys fucking is just gross. that's PRIVATE. i understand. why is this show such a huge pile of fanwankery? kripke has lost his ever loving mind, is the only explanation.

I scrolled down a few comments and ... are people on ONTD like, actually insane? Suffering from brain-eating effects of major mercury poisoning? They're all going on about how young she looks (um, she looks his age or so) and her pants being ugly (whatever, I say! Chicks who dress like that are awesome and they know it).

And er, I've seen another picture of them/her in which she was wearing heels. Whatever, she's a real person who doesn't dress for the camera and that is fantastic.

technically it's watersports+bloodplay in the same scene, which, you might or might not be surprised to know, is actually a salve for open wounds! um, piss i mean...not that that was the point of the watersports, um. \o/ THE THINGS YOU LEARN. or well, that i for some reason already knew. and also peter is crazy, nathan loves him, and that's just how it goes.

oh no they never officially broke up, they just disappeared after the semi-failure of the last album and then the bassist decided to become and actor and both the lead singer and the drummer released solo albums and the last they were even in the same room together recording was in 2007? so i just assumed they might have gone away forever. glad i was wrong!

Re: ontd. I don't mind a bit of deserved celebrity snark -- you know, laughing at people's massive egos and such. (Maybe that's hypocritical of me, because otoh I hate the other much more present side 'cos it's like hysterical misogyny of the most conservative type and it's all about how supposedly ugly/fat/slutty/whatever they are ... it's so ridiculous). no, i don't mind the celebrity snark (for example, i find it hilarious to call milo fat!...which he totally was for like, two episodes on heroes. okay not fat, just bloated, but um.) but on ontd, every time a picture of a girl gets posted i cringe, because the vile comments just don't stop. and i know not everyone on there is like that, but it gets my goat up and i just want to throw a fit.

haa that's because i am unemployed and have a lot of free time! trust me i am not a fast writer at all when i actually have things to do. it's the longest i've not been working since i started, so the writing keeps me occupied, and hey, once i go back to work this will likely not happen again.

oh, randomly, i just wanted to say! drag race! um, i'm watching episode four (episode three with ongina made me cry omg i love her!) and they have all these women come in who are super-strong athletes against these super feminine men and it's so hot because i really like girls that look like boys and boys that look like girls, and all of that in the same room is intense! Oh my god those people are foul. And not even consistent in their nastiness - I seem to recall that the complaint last time was that she looked too *old*. This sort of unrestrained viciousness is even more distressing because it's largely unleashed by women *on* women. Way to stick it to the patriarchy, guys. Propogate the terrible (and tiresome) beauty ideals we all know are harmful, and tear each other down at every opportunity. Because nothing gets respect like name-calling and snobbery. *sigh*

Both of them came in for it earlier in their careers (Kate was called "fat" for years, and Cate was denounced by the online nerd community for being "not beautiful enough" to play Galadrial in Lord of the Rings), but now both of them seem untouchable in that regard. Maybe it is what cm was saying about people just being jealous and spiteful towards celebrities they feel need to be knocked off their pedestals? Motorbikes? That would be hot, yeah, but I wouldn't know how. I've never even been on the back of one. Every year at Pride I wish I was brave enough to ask a biker lady to let me ride with her (haha) but, I'm not.

I was thinking old-fashioned bikes! So much easier! You can bring your hockey stick and stuff. I think they'd make gang-like behavior easier too -- you don't need to be on roads or paths so can get away from scenes of activity faster.

Haha, that comic strip is awesome. And, er, don't feel too secure. Truth is I haven't ridden one in about seven years. I didn't even bother getting a bike licence when I moved to Aus, so yeah, maybe push bikes are a safer bet. And kinder to the environment.
