HENRY OMG!!! he is so awesome, hart. i love how seriously he took the challenge. <3 <3 <3 but also aw i'm sorry to see sahara go. when is tyra leaving omg

no no i'm having a lot of fun, honestly. *cuddles up to you* uh, half the time A. and i watch movies it's either like, movies we adore like zoolander or spinal tap or stuff we can't stand which we spend the entire time bitching about. i'm pretty sure we have quite a lot of fun with the latter as well. interpol are pretty dickish, yeah.

(my otp were paul and carlos! lead singer and bassist, respectively. i can't even tell you how dickish they are/were because that's like, the conclusion we came to after reading/watching five hundred interviews, but you know. otp!)

He did take it seriously! Apparently he talks about his experience on the show on the spoken word tour he's doing now? Which I'm going to in a month - yay! I'll let you know what he says. And Tyra sucks. Trufax.

*side-eye* You sure? Oookay! If you're happy then I'm happy, I guess! (I'm sort of more of a passive aggressive turn off/walk out person. The last DVD we did that to was Be kind Rewind. I really wanted to like that, because I like Jack Black, but it wasn't to be. The time before that it was Alexander. Now *that* was a shocker.) Oh, and Zoolander! Spinal Tap! *draws hearts around them* I'd put Anchorman in that category too, and Shaun of the Dead and Hotfuzz - i.e. films that you can never see too many times.

(carlos/paul, huh? Nice! Only not, apparently? But pretty, so yay!)

ah i love his spoken word thingies! some of it is on youtube it's awesome. (you know i bought the rollins band CD when i was like, fourteen or something? i might have told you this, but maybe not but anyway i did! and he came to singapore to perform at the hard rock and i totally wanted to see the band but in the end no-one wanted to go with me and so i couldn't. sad!) omg let me know how it goes i am so envious of you right now!

oh hey i keep meaning to watch be kind/rewind (mos def omg!!!) but i've been getting distracted. should i not bother? and heee why did you not like alexander? i thought it was kind of fabulously nonsensical/insane and so clearly i adored it. and i've never seen anchorman but omg shaun of the dead!!! hot fuzz!!! i love them so much omg simon pegg IS THE BEST EVER.

(pretty, yes! and again, they might be perfectly nice guys? but man. public personas. get better, PR, you guys!)

I will tell you! But are you sure he's not coming over your way this time? It pays to check. Otherwise, COME OVER AND STAY WITH US AND WE'LL TAKE YOU! Um. Just an idea I had.

And I'm starting to think maybe you and I don't have quite the same taste in movies (apart from the universal awesomeness of the ones we mentioned)? So maybe you should watch Be Kind Rewind for yourself - don't take my word for it! I love Mos Def too. And I'm sorry about Alexander - I didn't know you liked it! Um, as to the *why* - uh, I can't even begin to tell you, but it was the acting, the accents, the *hair* - omg, the plot, all of it, yikes. I'm sorry! We were just kind of stunned by how it turned out, given some of the people involved (although I do think Oliver Stone is terribly overrated, and this just confirmed it).

COME OVER AND STAY WITH US AND WE'LL TAKE YOU

YOU CAN'T SEE ME BUT I'M PACKING MY BAGS RIGHT NOW. okay, no i only wish i were. but i shall be with you in spirit, and i expect a full recap of the experience, young lady!

and i feel i don't share the same taste in movies with plenty of people. um, half the time i watching nothing but tragic b-rated american horror movies, and the other half i watch slightly less tragic european horror movies, and in between that i just like, watch whatever randomly catches my eye. and no don't ever apologize for not liking something i liked omg! truly i am impossible to offend i know my taste is suspect ninety-percent of the time and i don't mind if someone else doesn't like it and besides where's the fun in always liking the same things, right? i love alexander probably precisely because of the bad acting, the accents, the hair, the plot, ahem ahem.

Aw, ok. Maybe one day?

I like some horror films, but not the really sadistically violent ones (Saw, Hostel etc *shudder*). I really, really can't bear them - but the sort of Scream/Final Destination/Cursed (cuteness!) sort of ones I quite like. And the atmospherically cool British ones with great music (like 28 Days Later) are awesome too. And my taste is *highly* suspect in some areas, I'm sure. I mean, I watched Doom (for Karl Urban *dreamy sigh*) and went..."huh - was not that bad?" Uh, whoops. Also, I hated a couple of past best picture noms/winners (There Will Be Blood, Crash, Mulholland Drive). So there's that.

some day, yes omg! i've always wanted to go!

saw is just stupid, and hostel is...smug and stupid, but i watched both hostel movies anyway. and just as an indication of how our tastes differ? i watched Doom without knowing even who starred it in, when it came to the theatres, just because it had zombies and was based on a video game (i think i've watched it five times by now, JUST BECAUSE). i just...really am that lame. oh! and mulholland drive is up there with one of my favorite movies ever, so clearly we have to like, have movie-nights that only include movies like spinal tap and whatnot! \o/

Haha, oh dear. Yes, maybe that's a good idea (A and I were talking about doing a Spinal Tap rewatch soon. How about this weekend! We can gmail chatlog it!)

I'm pretty sure you're not alone in rating MD very highly. We thought we'd like it too, because we liked other David Lynch fare like Twin Peaks and Wild at Heart etc, but in the end it just made us feel confused and stupid. Like, we really felt we were not smart enough for that film. ugh sorry for using the royal we - boy and I don't always agree, honest!

Doooooom! OMG dude, I went through this Star Trek-induced Karl Urban phase when the movie came out and watched Doom and The Chronicles of Riddick and oh god Pathfinder with cm, and then I'd beg her to watch Doom with me again and she'd be like, "..." because it has gore and monsters and hi have we met? (I'm six years old. I can hardly stand it when people punch each other in movies.) But ahaha Reaper shoots a skeleton in the ass! With the BFG! I loved that sequence so much, I can't even tell you. Also, he was so amazingly hot and had wicked UST with his twin sister, ahem hem hem.

Randomly, I enjoyed the shit out of The Boondock Saints (yes, I'd never watched it before, whatever whatever) which surprised cm somewhat, but apparently I'm fine with shooting people? I just look away a litte during the punching bits. *is six*

Also, we should ttly watch Spinal Tap together on the weekend! ::rummages for file:: When would be good for you? :-)

Pretty icon! But ahaha, you actually watched Pathfinder! You're so much more dedicated than me. (OMG the end sequence of Doom was so nerdy and awesome! I used to love that game!!)

Let's see - well cm's saying she might not be able to this w/end, so I guess we'll have to wait on her word, but from my point of view anytime after midday Sat to midday Sun would be good. (my partner's going away for the day/night, and I'll need a distraction from studying)
